It's been a while but I haven't forgotten about my blog..

I've been busy lately with work and my latest addition to the collection. The W124 is running like it just left the factory and I couldn't be happier.. it's a joy to drive around ... and my w126 is finally registered ... I know it's a simple thing for a lot of folks .. just go to DMV, pay the fees, smog check it and that's it.. for most people that's it.. since my w126 is not sold in US and imported from Germany it's a Grey market car... both state and federal gov. try to make sure it's an absolute hell for someone to import a car and register for US use... my 500sel (W126) has been a California car for at least 20 years but the previous owners didn't federalize the car the right way.. it's missing some stickers from BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair).. they are suppose to check the car and make sure all the smog equipments are there since the rest of the world doesn't follow what Cali is doing.. so for a short time I was getting ready to part out my w126.. it was such a sad feeling.. such a rare car and it'll be a shame to go out like that .. so I started poking around and very luckily I got my BAR sticker .. SMOG wasn't a problem.. the old girl is still running like a champ and pass with flying colors... it was such a joyous day for me... I started ordering parts and started my restoration.. right now I'll be focusing on the mechanical restoration and the interior first.. then move on to paint and other exterior cosmetic stuff... car is still fine and all but it's not perfect.. i like my cars perfect ... I'm very happy that I saved a nice rare euro W126 with AMG bits.. I am contributing to motoring world.. I'm doing my part... are you ;)
