Cash for Clunkers.????
First of all I hate this damned program....I'm not paying my Federal taxes to buy a new pick-up tuck for a redneck... and another thing is lots of nice older classics are gonna be gone... old Mercedes, BMW's and many other nice cars are gonna be murdered... yeah that's right murdered.... dealers have to kill the engine before sending them to the junk.. it is a horrible thing.. in my book it's Murder.. car murderers... I'll never forget this....

Hmmmmmm. Actually, I wish we were paying for rednecks to buy a new pick-up. I think they r funding the programme by just printing more $$$. Why didn't they just take a B-1 bomber and dropped $$$$$$ all over the US ????
ReplyDeleteBut it's not as bad as u think. 9/10 clunkers are old pick-ups and trucks. At least we will have less of that crap that GM/Ford/Chrysler made in the 80s and 90s. "Older Classics" these certainly r not. Less crap to totally block my view at intersections. Thank God, they will b scrapped.
But who was the idiot who made the requirements so lax ??? If they were gonna do such a programme, they shld have required the clunkers to get 15mpg or less and require the new car to get over 30mpg.
As it is, they r just scrapping old gas hogs for new gas (slightly less) hogs.
I think the reason is that Congress did not want to subsidize sales of cars that were too efficient, because none of them wud have "American" nameplates. Dumb asses !!
